You’re here! And you made it just in time!

I love that you took the time to make your way through the virtual noise and to meet me at my first step 🙂 You showing up tells me that you’re curious to learn something new about the world of special needs and things that I do to try to make us a little bit kinder and more welcoming.

Writing has helped me make sense of the often noisy and busy world that we live in. I’ve occasionally thought of publishing my writing but always shied away from it. It felt unnecessary and awkward to share my crazy ideas and weird perspectives of how I made sense of my world… until now.

I’ve reached a point where I need to work through my own professional (and some personal) experiences. I got caught up in the busy-ness of the daily grind and now is the perfect time to take apart moments and grow from them in retrospect.

I want to share my expertise with those who are helping to create a welcoming world—my core mission.

If you are part of a special needs families, I hope some of my posts resonate with you.

If you are or striving to become a borderless therapist, I hope you find ideas on how to get there.

If you own or support a conscious business hiring special needs employees, I hope we get in touch over virtual coffees (or cheeky beer) to figure out how to create more of you!

And if you are none of the above, that’s okay! I hope I can introduce you to something new.

So, really.

This writing and publishing process is therapeutic for me and I hope it’s useful for you. I hope that what I share leaves you with useful takeaways — a perspective that helps you feel connected, some words that resonate and help you to express your wants & needs, and a little extra oomph that sparks color in an often all-gray world 😉

I promise to publish every other week until 26 June 2020 — that’s 7 blog posts, not including this one. There. I said it. I committed.

If you are reading this in the future, did I do it? If so, elbow five! (We’re in midst of a 2 meter social distancing intervention due to Covid-19.) If not, do I have an action plan for the next best step?

Let’s touch base soon.

With gratitude,

Aya
