Consultations With Aya

Occupational Therapist & Neurodiversity-Inclusive Consultant

I'm here to help you nurture a neurodiversity inclusive school.

There is always another way.

Are you feeling pulled in all different directions with what is best for the neurodivergent student at your school?

There seems to be endless questions around what should happen next. How to better ‘manage’ this child.

If it’s not a question, it’s probably a recommendation made by a therapist who doesn’t know about the particularities of your classroom or school setting. How are you meant to apply this directly into the general classroom setting?

Solutions

Mini Consultation

Feeling general overwhelm and not sure where to start?

This mini consultation will set you up for success at the beginning of building your school’s neurodivergent inclusion journey.

Together, we will identify the resources and setup that are already in place and learn from past issues and stress points that are being experienced by the neurodivergent members of your community. This is your current state and reality – and oftentimes, clients find that there is more being done now than they give themselves credit for.

Are you running out of strategies to recommend to teachers who also feel like they’re running out of strategies to use?

Are you spending hours strategically planning out a parent meeting or drafting out an email to get the parents on board with a support plan?

Before we come up with a roadmap, we need to understand your terrain so that we can get you from feeling blinded and overwhelmed to having clarity and understanding of where you are standing.

VIP Consultation

In this very special partnership, you are the only very important person I work with. We will share 6 hours with the sole focus to resolve the issue that you are struggling with the most.

Let’s get clear about who you have in mind and what their stress points are. VIP clients have multiple layers of issues on hand.

Are you struggling with 2-3 specific students whose capacities are different?

Does your school building and campus need an upgrade to optimize the school day experienced by students using mobility devices?

What is the experience you’d like to create for this group of people?

How can we get there together with community involvement?

VIP clients come to me with what issues that they need to tackle. Oftentimes, there is an inclusion policy and strategy in place or being developed.

The Process

* Ask about how we can work together on an ongoing basis.

I'm Aya Ninomiya.

I specialize in building community around neurodiversity inclusion.

My angle has always been to uncover what isn’t always obvious to see. After working clinically with children and their families, I was itching to get closer to my wakuwaku — I want to help create a kinder and more welcoming world.

I believe that by opening doors to include more people of different capacities, communities become more resilient and innovative to overcome new challenges.

Are you ready to find win-win-win solutions for multiple stakeholders in a cross-cultural environment?

I am committed to offering a collaborative and eclectic approach to consultation. These five components ground my practice:

+ Occupation-based evaluations and interventions

+ Client-centeredness and a strong support network

+ Capacity building

+ Action-based planning

+ Online practice

Let's commit to building a strong support network around the children that are often left on the sidelines.
